Built To Last, postEDEN, Today Art Museum, Beijing, China 2010

Curator Reg Newitt

The work reflects on the notion of ‘built to last’. 18 models of historic and contemporary landmark architecture including the Eiffel Tower, Petronas Towers, the Empire State Building, the International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong, constructed from card and inverted, suspend from the gallery ceiling, accompanied by a 8.5 metre upright plywood generic skyscraper.

The exhibition featured as part of the Year of Australian Culture in China – Imagine Australia. Artists Jayne Dyer, Tony Scott, Lindy Lee (Australia) and Wayne Warren (UK). Artworks contemplate our uncertain socio-political times.
